Lema Sbenaty, O.D. earned her undergraduate degree in biochemistry at Middle Tennessee State University before completing her Doctor of Optometry at the University of Alabama Birmingham’s School of Optometry. From there, she completed externships in Dallas and Alabama, focusing on ocular disease management and refractive surgery care. During her training, she helped manage challenging referrals from local OD’s and gained experience in diagnosing and managing eye diseases like glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, dry eye, retinal detachments, pediatric amblyopia, corneal injuries, and pre op and post op care for cataract and refractive surgeries.
As an optometric physician at Advanced Eye Care Center, Dr. Sbenaty specializes in comprehensive eye care and ocular disease management. She works with patients of all ages. She is passionate about helping patients with challenging and emergent cases, regardless of their age. Dr. Sbenaty has donated her time helping her local community by providing ocular care to those in need in the DFW area. In her free time, Dr. Sbenaty enjoys running, hiking, cooking, and traveling.
